I personally vouch that this is a true story and not a scam.

Dear Friends,
For the past 7 days, our family has been into such a difficult trial with my elder sister and her second baby's life at stake.
My sister, Ate Jenny, was rushed to the hospital midnight of Monday (June 11, 2012). We suspected, eventually confirmed, that the intolerable back pain she felt is... caused by the same congenital disease which attacked her last December 30, 2008, manifesting through daily nosebleeds and pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs). AVMs are the lack intervening capillaries and result in direct connections between arteries and veins. Such rare disease can only be diagnosed by the best doctors, technology and hospitals available in the Philippines, like St. Lukes (Q.C.). The overall incidence of such disease in North America alone is 1:5,000.
In 2008, she underwent a procedure called Lobectomy, where the lower left lobe of her lung was removed, after complications from ruptured blood vessels, leaving her with one upper left lobe and three right lobes. The operation was successful giving her another chance to live her life like a normal person again. However, with her doctors giving her a reminder to lessen activities that may affect her blood pressure to avoid blood vessels to rupture again.
A team of 12 doctors (pulmonologists, cardiologist, neurologists, anesthesiologist, pediatrician, ob-gynecologists, internists, etc.), our family, and Ate Jenny agreed for a premature Ceasarian Surgery, despite baby Ethan's prematurity (7 months) so they can proceed with all the necessary tests and procedures (MRI, CT-angiogram, CT scans, X-ray, etc.) to treat Ate Jenny's AVM condition preventing the baby in her tummy getting exposed to any radiation and medicines. Ate Jenny gave birth with a tiny yet healthy little boy, Ethan, on June 15, 2012 10:40PM.
From June 15 (10:40PM) to June 17 (10:06AM), Ethan's hospital bill is P94, 723.04. Ethan is and will be placed to the nursery incubator for the next 2 months. We are currently weighing options like transferring Ethan to Philippine Children's Hospital near St. Lukes, so we can attend to both him and her Mom while they are in such conditions. We can only do that if we settle his bill mentioned earlier.
According to the In-house Billing section of the hospital, clearance (for Ate Jenny to have Lobectomy) on Wednesday will only be released if we pay the incurred amount from June 11-17 (P 352, 161. 23) on or before Tuesday. We only have one day, which is tomorrow, to raise such amount of money. Our family is still in great debts with the doctors who treated her back in 2008. That time, hospital bill was almost P2Million (Philippine Heart Center and St. Lukes Q. C.).
Today, June 17, Ate Jenny is on her second day of confinement in ICU, gaining back her health, as part of all the preparations for the tentatively scheduled Lung operation (Lobectomy) on Wednesday 7AM. From what the doctors discussed during Family conference, possible sections of her middle and lower right left lobes are to be removed which caused the bleeding in her lungs. The most recent CT-angiogram and MRI done early yesterday and tonight, respectively, shows an incease from 87cc to 400cc of fluid (possibly blood or water). To date as of 10:06AM, Ate Jenny's hospital bill alone is P 352, 161. 23.
Our lungs are not supposed to have any fluid in it. Worst case, as per the doctors, the middle and lower lobes of her right lungs should not be entirely removed; otherwise it will be difficult to survive, at least live normally, with one left lobe and one right lobe remaining. A healthy normal person has 5 lobes in her lungs. Lobectomy, this time, would cost around P 250, 000.
Ate Jenny has been a role-model to all of us her younger siblings. She has been the best Ate to me, the best panganay to our parents, the best wife to her husband. She has risked her life giving birth to a pre-mature baby boy and the same thing she did to her now 3-year old son. Everyone deserves to live a longer life and make her life a living testimony of our Creator's faithfulness.
She will turn 31 on July 16. Her life and health will be the best gift we can only ask for her birthday.
Thank you for your unceasing prayers for a miraculuos healing for her new lungs, supernatural healing, open heavens and the declaration of God's victory over this sickness. Any amount, big or small, when combined can make a long way to help and save Ate Jenny from further threat to her life. We can never be more than grateful for all your support and prayers, but God has all His ways to storm with His blessings those who love Him.
